I usually don't review stuff, but this bag is the greatest! It's perfectly balanced and stands upright when loading and unloading stands. No bending over to pack up at the end of a long night! Construction is excellent and it has room for plenty of everything. The only negative is that there is no external pocket that fits a bass pedal. But the for me the pedal does fit in the top of the main bag nested with the stands. Best $$ I have spent in quite a while..

I got just what was pictured, fat chain and all. I couldn't be happier for the price. I only wish they could be both be used seperately. Again, not a major issue for the price. I bought these for my grandson who is lefthanded as well, but found out that he plays righthanded. Oh well, I'll keep them for myself. I've been playing two bass drums and might get by with just one. We'll see. Great product, great price. Keep on drumming.

This pedal is a great deal for the price, so buy it and you will most likely be happy. But, before you do, know going into it that this pedal is not the 400 pedal as described. It is the 402 version instead. The big difference between the 400 and the 402 is that the 402 (the one you will get) comes with a much cheaper thinner chain. The description above has pictured the better "fat" chain of the actual 400 model. Amazon also (currently) has the 402 for sale for the exact same price, so you can compare the differences in the chains. If you order this, you are going to get the pedal and chain pictured in the 402 picture.

I put this on a Ludwig acrolight snare shell. Was very please with the quality and fit of this product. Was debating to get the cheaper Ludwig throw-off, glad I went with this. Gives the drum a higher quality look as well as better adjustability for the snares and it works great.



Overall, highly reccomended for older era snare drums.

First things first, if your snare strainer is drilled 2 1/2 in apart, standard for Ludwig snares, this will pop right in. Otherwise you'll have to figure it out. It fit my 1964 Ludwig snare perfectly.



Not only is this a beautiful solid brute with its knurled wheel, chrome, and art deco engraving, it is also a *much*better* machine. It's the neatest snare strainer operation I've ever seen. Just flip that top tab towards you to loosen the snares, flip it back to tighten. You can easily do it while playing, even snap the snares in time, if that's your thing. My teacher broke a strainer doing that, but it wouldn't happen with the P-86.



It really dresses up your snare and works way better, pay the extra bucks. It is simply better than the P-85. It is worth it.

 "Too dense, not worth it." 2010-08-19

I got really excited about these sticks a while back before I started shopping on amazon, finally ordered them the other day and I was very disappointed. The reason is that I own a pair of effects sticks (called rutes) from vic firth. They have natural a foam/cork core with about 8-10 little bamboo or wood sticks (kind of like some incense sticks) around the outside. They are so soft and have the warmest sound and I love them to death. They give your snares and toms a completely different sound, even though they aren't too good with cymbals. I was expecting a similar response from these sticks, seeing that the tips are made of felt. I was thinking something along the lines of thinner fiber, more aired out piece of felt, however what's on the stick is extremely dense and pretty much cancels the point of using them. Don't get me wrong they do have a different response, cymbals can really get interesting here as you basically have a set of soft mallets where you can get a nice shimmering effect etc. For the rest though it's almost comparable to a wooden tip a while it does sound warmer, it's not by very much.



If you want to hit some really funky stuff or experiment around a little I highly suggest the rutes, they are completely soft and very warm.

I took a chance on this product because I liked the idea of having a handmade bag for my djembe drum rather than some boring, cloned factory thing. When I visited this page, there were some interesting images and brief descriptions, but no reviews. Also, there was no "choice" or selection button to choose a particular bag, which meant that the seller would send me the product, but the sender would choose the color / design for me. I wouldn't know what the product look like until I received it--a total surprise. Nevertheless, I went ahead with the purchase because I wanted a bag; the given samples seemed to be interesting and tasteful. Well, I received my bag today, and I am very impressed with the product (see the customer images section for a view) and the seller's quick service. I actually liked the pattern / style that was chosen for me, sort of a black and clay color, with African motif; I liked it even better than the sample ones pictured! :) The bag feels sturdy, well-made, and it seems to be the perfect travel for my instrument. Just know that these things do not feel like drum heads, no matter who makes them. They make very little noise and it IS something to hit, but there is quite a bit of bounce to this. I'm thinking about glueing a round piece of foam underneath to slow it down. Otherwise, no complaints.

I purchased these sticks to play the Ion drum kit for Rock Band, and they are fantastic. I had had a problem with the standard sticks slipping from my hands due to sweat/vigorous playing, so I purchased these and they couldn't be better. There is a varnish coating that prevents the sticks from slipping and they are perfectly balanced and just the right weight. I cannot recommend these more.

The picture is of the older version - my comments apply to the recent "EVOLUTION" stick design. I've tried serveral different brands, sizes and styles of sticks. The evolution has a heavier hand weight which makes it easier to pound out loud notes while producing less hand strain. The tip is light enough to provide a delicate sound when needed. I love these sticks and may even dump the 1A's I've been using for those heavy rock numbers! Great Design!

I have tried many stick styles for playing on a Roland mesh heads. This is my current favorite. The weight, width, length and tip are just right for the mesh and the rubber cymbals. ...not sure who "Dave Weckl" is, but it's a great stick! (Sorry, Dave. I bought these sticks for a "metal" drummer. I thought they would be more comfortable to use than the traditionall all wood sticks, but after an evening of "banging" he ended up with a few blisters. Not sure why....perhaps he just wasn't used to the rubber grip or their "non-slip" character? I think maybe the rubber caused his fingers to be a little moister than usual ? Try them, but don't buy a bunch, just in case...

 "Great drum head, shipping method questionable" 2010-03-11

Only play Evans EC drumheads exclusively and turned to Amazon.com when I couldn't find the 16" EC resonant head on the online music equipment sites. Price was fine, but the method in which this retailer ships leaves a lot to be desired. It was sent through the regular mail. The USPS mis-routed this head to another part of Atlanta, which delayed my receipt of it by five days. Imagine my surprise when I finally received it and saw that the company I bought it from did not even box it up! They just stuck a label on the flimsy cardboard packaging that the drumheads are wrapped in! This packaging definitely showed that it took a lot of abuse on its way to me (thank you USPS), but fortunately, the head was fine. Would recommend to the company that sells these that they charge a little bit more for shipping, package it correctly, and ship it via UPS or FEDEX so that the buyer can track it.
