 "What was I thinking?" 2010-02-01
By DSLR Shooter (Baton Rouge, LA USA)
I bought this as a first musical instrument for my toddler. Why? I must be insane. I've only let him play with it a few times because the noise is unbearable. It sounds like tuning forks are being stabbed through my skull.

"Angelic beauty -- and for only $20!" 2010-01-27
By M. Baven
I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from this little instrument. It only had 2 reviews (though they were both very good), but sometimes what sounds good to other people doesn't necessarily sound good to me. Imagine my surprise when I opened up my brand new glockenspiel, began tapping around, and heard what I can only describe as the sound angels must make when they're happy. I felt the need to show all of my friends immediately, and they all had the same opinion: for $20, this is an incredibly high quality instrument. If I had known this is what it sounded like, I would have gladly paid more than double the price.

Simply amazing, five stars.

"Much louder than a toy" 2010-01-26
By C. Fischer (Columbus, OH)
This is about the same price as a toy xylophone, but much better quality. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Parents should be aware that it is MUCH LOUDER than a toy. Good thing if your performing on stage. Maybe not so good if your little musician is still developing his/her skills.

 "Better than a toy" 2010-01-10
By R.S. (Columbus, Ohio)
These bells are worth the few extra dollars over the price of a toy version. The sound rings clear and beautiful. The photo of the product on my computer looks like the bells are shaded blue and white, but they're silver. The clasp sticks a little, but no big deal. It came from Woodwind and Brass, and I had a shipping address mistake and the company was extremely helpful.

 "Daughter loved it!" 2010-02-03
By E. Ross (Loganville, GA USA)
I bought this for my daughter for Christmas and she loves it. It seems very well made. Nice tones. Perfect for carrying with her to play wherever she wants.

 "Fun for family" 2009-12-31
By NicoleM (Baltimore, MD USA)
I gave this to my toddler as a gift because I wanted it. We both love to play tunes. I'm actually reading music, he's just using the sticks to make some noise. It is better than the toy bells because it has sharps and flats and more notes. The keys are labeled with the note (A, A#/Bb, C...) which is nice, esp for beginners. I think we will use this for years. At first I did not like that the lid does not open all of the way or come off, but I have come to appreciate it as a music holder.

 "Bright and clear" 2009-12-10
By C. Kelley
I bought this set for my nephews as a Christmas present, but I'm tempted to buy one for myself as well. My brother's family has a rule about musical instruments, apparently: If you're going to buy an instrument for a child, make sure it is a quality instrument. A child playing a cheap instrument badly is much worse to listen to than a child playing a nice instrument badly. This glockenspiel is a good instrument. The bells are bright, clear, and in tune. The kit comes with 2 sets of mallets. One is for soft playing, while the other set produced strong and loud sounds. My only complaint is the hideous color of the case---it seems to have crept out of the depths of 1973. However, it's the sound quality that really counts, and this glockenspiel sounds quite nice.

Great bells. Sound great. They're actually in tune! And great for my 3 year old to bang on.

"defintly a nice product however...." 2006-07-14
By Ryan D. Wirth
ahhhhh it came in the mail. i ordered the angel light blue and this product.

in comparison, the light blue has this piping that makes the bells sound MUCH longer!

so i would advise if youare as absurd as i am about things you own, to go buy piping or somethign else besides the felt softner that they include withthis.

trust me you willbe so much more in bliss .
