"About what you'd expect for the cost" 2009-11-20
By Jet (USA)
I've bought these in bulk to house a custom product I sell, and I've had complaints from customers about the zipper getting stuck and the plastic clip for the shoulder strap breaking. I don't know how they'd work for cymbals but they obviously can't take much abuse.

 "Good entry level case" 2004-12-01
By Victoria Tarrani (Betwixt FL and CA, USA)
For the price you cannot beat this case, which can hold up to ten cymbals as large as 20".

It is well constructed, sufficiently so to support the heavy weight of a bag full of cymbals, and comes with a detachable strap and built-in carrying handles.

There are a few minuses, though. First, there are no dividers, so you will need to use cloth or plastic covers for each of your cymbals to protect them. Second, there is only a single compartment, which means that your smaller splash and your hi-hat cymbals are going to get mixed in with larger ride and crash cymbals.

If you are on a budget and don't have any cymbals larger than 20", this is a good first case that will protect your investment in cymbals if you use covers to compensate for the lack of dividers and pockets. Mine came with a Zildjian cymbal pack, but I needed a case for my 22" Avedis ride, so purchased the Zildjian Gadd Session Cymbal Bag (ASIN B0002D0FXM). Although that bag is over twice the cost of this one, it is one you should consider if your budget permits.

 "Three thumbs down!" 2009-08-24
By Drummer Bummer
I bought one of these and was initially quite happy.

Unfortunately within 2 months it had completely fallen apart.

I've never taken the time to write a product review, but I'm so dissatisfied that I had to.

Other reviews here are good, so maybe I just got a lemon.

 "Great bag" 2007-08-27
By R. Joseph
I recently purchased this great, practical bag. It has nice space in the main section and the outer pocket is ideal for carrying extras like wing-nuts and and extra felt disks for cymbals. Also, what is very practical, is the back-pack type straps which frees up your hands to carry other pieces of equipment. It is worth the price.

I've had this bag for about 2 months now - I couldn't see myself without it now.

I use it to carry my splash, crash/ride, hi hats, and stick bag, with

plenty of room left over. And it's comfortable on the back as well.

 "This stuff stinks!!!" 2009-06-02
By E. Macomber (New Bern, NC United States)
An earlier review was right, there is some type of ammonia or non-breatheable ingredient in GJ...but man, it beats the socks off of Zildjian paste or brasso-type creams. Look, I am just a amateur who plays his drums about 4 days a week, for the mere fun of it, and cymbal cleaning is not my way to "have fun." This is purely the cure for time phantoms like me.

I also hated the fact that a $390 Zildjian looks like a no-name rip off following the cream "logo eradicator" I used before.

Finally, if you have a haze, you did not wash all the chemical off, or did not dry the cymbal completely. Always use this product near a well ventilated area, but enjoy the ease and time you saved!

Hint, if you only clean your cymbals 2 times a year, store the GJ in a glass jar until ready to use it in its plastic spray bottle. The stuff goes funky in the spray bottle if allowed to set over a years time!

"Sadly, I think this is just smelly water" 2008-08-27
By Kevin M. McFarland (Chicago, IL USA)
I've heard of Groove Juice for a while and decided to try some cuz my kit had been left uncovered and had gotten dusty. It won't take silk-screened logos off either.

I use Zildjian A Series and always keep mine clean & shiny (vs letting them tarnish), so they aren't super-cruddy, etc. I took one of my 18's, sprayed the stuff on and waited 30 sec. for the wipe-off. Initially the bell started to glimmer, but I'm not sure that wasn't from just having something wet on it.

After 30 secs, I wiped the stuff off and presto ! - no big deal. As a matter of fact, my cymbal seemed to have a haze on it, but perhaps that was from not being totally dry (?). And most drummers know how much black cymbal crud/tarnish comes off when cleaning and there was basically nothing on my rag. Weird. Maybe it cleaned out some dirt deep in the grooves of my cymbals, but I don't see any real "polish" aspect with this product. I decided to just use my Brasso...much better results. I did follow up with GJ after the Brasso to blend the Brasso'ed area and non-Brasso'ed logo areas. That sorta works.

I also tried this on a 14HH that was starting to develop a green spot about the size of half of a dime. GJ did nothing to remove it.

We're all looking for that perfect cymbal cleaner & polish and would say this ain't it either. Arrrgghh... I really wanted this stuff to work!

Customer Buzz
"Absolutely awesome! Like Tarn-X on steroids!" 2008-01-23
By Paul Bahr (Edgerton, WI USA)
I had brought the cymbals home from the set that we have at church and was going to polish them up with another brand's paste/cream product. Couldn't find where I'd put it in the house, so I went to a local music store and they carried Groove Juice. I didn't really read the product at the store; just went off of the tech's recommendation.

Went to start cleaning the cymbals (got out a bunch of rags, getting ready to polish and scrub) and I read the directions on the bottle. Spray cymbal surface evenly with product, let sit for 30 seconds, rinse off with warm water, and dry with a soft cloth?!?!? It can't be this easy!!!

So I tried it, and MAN!!, the results were spectacular!! The silk-screened brand markings on the cymbals didn't rub off (like they had started to with the paste-stuff), the shine came back almost as soon as the liquid was sprayed on to the cymbal surface, and the best things were that I was done with seven cymbals in about 20 minutes and my arms didn't feel like they wanted to fall off. With the paste stuff, I felt like The Karate Kid..."wax on, wax off".

I hope they don't stop making this stuff! Highly recommended! My only caution is to have ventilation available. It has a pretty strong odor to it and could cause problems if you're asthmatic or particularly sensitive.

The folks running the lights at church are going to hate me for cleaning the cymbals. They were so dull with oxidation and tarnish; now they're so shiny and shimmering!

 "quasi decent cymbal stand" 2010-01-12
By K. Jerome (New York, NY)
I suppose it's not fair to sit here and criticize this cymbal and its features, because to be honest, what should a $20 cymbal indeed be like? A fairly legitimate cymbal grabber arm and clamp together is at least $30 so why should this quasi decent boom stand be $20 if it's not cheap? It is good enough to do the job, but it is a light-med weight, and is not the strongest you can find. If you are looking to save money and pick yourself up a cheap stand, this is good for you. But don't think that when you punch in your credit card number, that you are walking away with any sort of steal on this one. I hate to be a bubble buster, but this is not a great stand, it's good for a starter, or for a backup stand, but if you invest a plethora of ideas and time into drums, look for something better

Customer Buzz
"You get what you pay for" 2009-12-07
By A. Minnick
This is quite obviously not the greatest boom stand on the market, but for the price, what do you expect? It doesnt hold up very well, the arm jiggles, the adjustable wingnut is cheap (I reccomend replacing it right off the bat) and when you adjust the arm's angle, the arm usually just falls out. But, again, this is what you $20 worth will get you. I reccomend searching around, there are many nice cymbal stands on sites such as Amazon or Musiciansfriend that are just 10 or so dollars more, definitely worth it.
