I bought this for bringing my 5 piece kit to local gigs and they work for that. The padding is nice and the drums fit snugly. It takes a little doing to fit the kick and floor tom but it's understandable. Two things prevent me from giving it 5 stars. Although the bag straps are good for using them over you shoulder, it's not the easiest to use when you just want to carry them by hand. Being on the short side (5' 5"), using the long straps by hand results in the drums dragging on the floor. A short handle on the side would've been convenient. The other thing I wished they had are side pockets to store some of the hardware.



I bought these instead hard cases because I didn't think I needed the extra protection. This still holds true. But a big advantage of the hard shell cases is the ease of putting the drums in and out of them - a friend has them and it's a cinch. But as my title said, for the money, it protects my drums during local travel.

Falls apart if you use it filled close to capacity. I carry 6-8 pairs of sticks, brushes, and 2 sets of mallets, and had the seams burst on me in under 6 months. If you need to carry 5 or fewer pairs of sticks, it's probably fine.

I can't really blame the bag since it is a basic, standard stick bag as described. But if you're looking for something with many compartments or with slots to keep your sticks from sliding around, you'll be slightly let down. Also, the strap is only good for carrying in your hand, and doesn't adjust so that you can sling it over your shoulder. I have a lot of sticks which it holds just fine, but just in two big pockets inside with no separation. It has a large pocket in front and a small plastic pouch in a corner of the back which I suppose you can do something with. But if you're looking for more slots and compartments, you might want to spring for a fancier one. If you're on a budget like me though, you'll find that it will certainly hold and protect your sticks with no frills.
