"The BEST sticks you will ever find ( FOR METAL DRUMMERS)" 2010-03-13
By Abdalla (Abdalla)
These sticks were designed for heavy metal players who hit really hard, and use alot of power. If you're not the heavy hitting drummer, and you play not so hard e.g jazz, pop, funk...these are NOT for you! They are as heavy as oak 5b sticks, approximately. By the ways I recommend buying the Ahead drummers gloves, and grip tape. With the combination of both you can't go wrong, trust me. Try it out yourself. I use 'em and I have no problem what so ever. I hope you find this helpfull and have fun with your new Ahead sticks. Peace out.

"I went back to WOOD STICKS" 2009-11-03
By Sherry Sollars
The idea of unbreakable sticks sounded cool at first, but i quickly went back to wood after using these for a while, for several reasons. These tor up my hands badly, and are heavy. They also don't have the feel and response of wood sticks. The tips broke off after a week, and it is hard to find replacement tips at a reasonable price. I would not recommend these to anybody!

 "Great sticks, more bounce" 2009-09-07
By M. Burns (Ann Arbor, MI)
I thought there would be a long adjustment period, but I fell in love with the sticks as soon as I started to use them. They are a bit heavier than hickory and have a lot more bounce, but I will never go back to using wood. They are just pure fun

Born in Athens, Greece, as Thomas Lee Bass on March 10, 1962, his family moved to California a year after his birth. Lee received his first drum set at the ripe old age of four, but didn't receive his first real kit until reaching his teenage years, upon his discovery of hard rock and heavy metal (Deep Purple, Kiss, Led Zeppelin, etc.). After drumming for his high-school marching band, Lee quit high school in his senior year, as he focused entirely on following his dream of joining a rock band. His first real band was called Suite 19, and played the Sunset Strip in L.A. during the early '80s. It was at a Suite 19 show that Lee bumped into his future bandmate, Nikki Sixx.Sixx was a bassist looking to form a theatrical band that would specialize in anthemic heavy metal, and when he saw Lee play, he knew he had found his drummer. Sixx successfully convinced Lee to leave Suite 19 and form the nucleus of what would

Born on December 26, 1963, in Gentofte, Denmark, Ulrich's father (Torbin Ulrich) was a nationally renowned tennis player, and it appeared as though Lars would follow in his father's footsteps, as the young Ulrich practiced hard on tennis skills. In 1973, his father took Lars to his first rock concert, to see the mighty Deep Purple in Copenhagen, which opened the youngster's eyes to hard rock and heavy metal. After he decided that the tennis life wasn't for him after all, Ulrich shifted his focus on music (namely the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement: Iron Maiden, Saxon, Diamond Head, Motorhead, Def Leppard, etc.), and took up the drums. His family relocated to California in the early '80s, as Lars promptly put an ad in the local music paper looking for other similarly minded musicians looking to start up a band (even though the NWOBHM had yet to make an impression stateside). One of the first replies he received was from guitarist James Hetfield, as the pair agreed that they sho

"Great gift for that drummer in your life!" 2010-01-18
By Browneyedgurl (Illinois/ Land of corn)
I was turned on to these drumsticks by a friend that raved about his. I ordered these as a Christmas gift for my husband, who loves to come home after a hard day at work and play his drums. He loved them! He was impressed with the aluminum design and ingenius replacement design. They are a bit heavier than his cheap wood sticks he had been using, but says its not a big deal to him. Now my husband feels like a rock star playing with his new Ahead Lars Ulrich Sticks!

 "Riddiculously awesome" 2010-01-08
By Derek S. Christensen (dude town)
These have to be the best drumsticks ive ever used. The coolest feature of these drumsticks is that they have interchangeable parts so if you ever manage to break the metalic finish and hardened plastic tip, you can replace them easily. these drumsticks may be a little costy but its so worth it because these things are beasts. they have a grip at the bottom that feels natural and the shaft is made of different materials so you know exactly where to hold it. also i thought the weight of these sticks were going to heavier than ive ever experienced but when i hold them along with Travis Barker's white wood drumsticks, they weigh the same if not less. i couldnt be more pleased. the only negative i can think of is that when you do rim taps its pretty quiet but other than that its the best buy ive done in a long time.

 "Amazing product!" 2007-04-21
By William J. Lafrance (Reedsburg, WI USA)
At first I was worried about spending $30 on a pair of drumsticks, but I've broken my fair deal throughout the day, and paying $10 a pair at the local music store, I figured alluminum was the way to go, so I bought them.

I'm used to using Zildjian DIP Hickory sticks, so these were pretty heavy, but I got used to it quick. I use them for performing, but I know that some other people have said that they just juse them for practice because they build arm strength for faster tom rolls, etc.

Overall, I enjoy using these sticks and hopefully I'll still have that opinion down the road!

It may also be worth noting that these are the same sticks that Lars Ulrich can be seen using in the studio on the Some Kind of Monster movie.

 "Nice Sticks...price is okay." 2005-07-28
By Vaderdust (Oklahoma City)
I got these sticks for my birthday...I've never had to use another pair since(been about 7 months now) Its a shame too, I kind of like breaking wooden sticks every month on a cymbal! The bounce is incredible, i can play alot longer and faster. Only complaint and its a small one: Just like everything Metallica, its overpriced. Oh well. I won't pay $90 for shows anymore either.
