"Good, but is wearing out quickly." 2010-03-15
By Matthew Vaughan (Houston, Texas)
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the Aquarian Double Kick Drum Pad. I play mostly metal music (In Flames, Escape the Fate, Killswitch Engage), and it has protected my bass drum quite well. However, there was one issue that I'd like to notify any heavy metal drummer interested in this product; I'd suggest checking the leverage/tension on the kick pedals before playing to make sure to avoid hitting the pad too hard. I say this because the Kick Pad I have is wearing out somewhat quickly after only a month of use, which is pretty obvious from all the white dust that part of the pad has disintegrated into where the kick pedal is located. Also, while I'm pretty sure I'm playing too hard, it may be that the pad isn't the highest quality, and there may be pads out there that have a better endurance rate.

 "Kick" 2009-06-19
By Nicholas A. Douglas (el paso, tx usa)
This kick-pad is excellent. It additionally lowers the sound of your bass drum, so if you're not satisfied with the sound, this will help. It lasts very long and can take a beating of all kinds, whether you single pedal like Nirvana of double pedal like All That Remains. I highly suggest this kick-pad if you're looking for one that will last long and protect your bass drum from injury =D

 "Perfect" 2009-10-30
By J. Westbrook (Atlanta, GA USA)
These heads are perfect out of the box. No muffling needed. They stay in tune. They have a great feel/rebound, and they sound absolutely incredible. I have been a drummer for 28 years, and using these for about 10 of those and will NEVER use anything else on my bass drum. Get one, you will not be disappointed! Your band and your ears will thank you for it!

 "Best drum head ever" 2009-06-25
By Drew Blood (San Francisco)
I've used Aquarian Superkick two for about five or six years. I have a lower end set (Tama Rockstar) and a friend recommended these heads, he said they are a bit more expensive, which they are, but well worth the money. Deep, deep tones, dry heavy hit. No dampening needed. I'm about to buy a Tama Bubinga Starclassic in a couple of months and will try it on the new set and keep everyone posted. I definitely recommend these heads for anyone doing live gigs or recording.

"Review for the smarter drummers out there" 2008-10-25
By Craig (Ca)
If you are reading this, then you are at least a little but curious about what Aquarian's Super kick II has to offer.

In 6 years of drumming, I have yet to find another kick head that matches up to this one. Simply put, it is the best thing out there. This bass drum head is great for several different reasons:

1. Extremely durable- You can beat the snot right out of this thing and it will hold up very well. The material is very strong, and there are TWO layers of it for extra strength.

2. Sounds incredible!- Its true. This bass drum head will completely transform the sound of your kit. I have thrown one of these on some of the crappiest kick drums ever crafted, and even they sounded good with it. I get compliments all the time on my kick. Super punchy and consistent.

3. Doesn't need muffling. For a live application, this head needs little to no padded muffling. Even in a normal house or practice room setting, the built in dual muffle rings act as a perfect device for keeping this drum head under control. If you want to add a little punch, throw in a very small t-shirt and it takes the edge off a bit.

I have even heard die hard Evans fans rave about these kick heads, they are just the best out there!

"Great pedal for the money" 2010-02-05
By Bradford Mclaughlin (San Jose, CA)
I've been drumming for a long time, and have seen a lot of equipment. This pedal is great. The only thing I am worried about is the riveting attaching the two chains to the pedal. Hopefully they won't break off. Otherwise the pedal feels great, and yes everything is adjustable. Would recommend to other drummers who need an affordable pedal. If it does snap, it looks like it would be easy to fix with a little ingenuity.

 "highly adjustable, smooth action" 2008-12-30
By A. Rainey (Dallas, TX USA)
I played, repaired, and modified many pedals of different brands before receiving this one as a gift. It's great, with a similar spring and action to DW pedals. My favorite part is that *everything* is adjustable, most with a simple drum key. The integrated drum key holder is a surprisingly handy feature, too.

 "good pedal" 2006-06-16
By Matthew Pamatmat (Cotati, CA United States)
The only problem w/ this pedal that I can see is that it came with no instructions, so I wasn't able to use it right away until enlisting the help of a friend who knew about drums. But he was very impressed with how progressive and high tech this pedal is. It comes w/ a drum key, and you can either have a felt head hit the drum or a plastic side for a more "clicky" sound. It has a nice double chain and a thoughtful design; this is definitely a well-made pedal and not some cheap thing. Good price and value.
