I suppose it's not fair to sit here and criticize this cymbal and its features, because to be honest, what should a $20 cymbal indeed be like? A fairly legitimate cymbal grabber arm and clamp together is at least $30 so why should this quasi decent boom stand be $20 if it's not cheap? It is good enough to do the job, but it is a light-med weight, and is not the strongest you can find. If you are looking to save money and pick yourself up a cheap stand, this is good for you. But don't think that when you punch in your credit card number, that you are walking away with any sort of steal on this one. I hate to be a bubble buster, but this is not a great stand, it's good for a starter, or for a backup stand, but if you invest a plethora of ideas and time into drums, look for something better

This is quite obviously not the greatest boom stand on the market, but for the price, what do you expect? It doesnt hold up very well, the arm jiggles, the adjustable wingnut is cheap (I reccomend replacing it right off the bat) and when you adjust the arm's angle, the arm usually just falls out. But, again, this is what you $20 worth will get you. I reccomend searching around, there are many nice cymbal stands on sites such as Amazon or Musiciansfriend that are just 10 or so dollars more, definitely worth it.

This stool is built like it was meant for field work in the Army. There's not a cheap part within 10 miles of this thing. The seat is not the most comfortable thing I've ever sat on, but it's decent. Main thing is that it's sturdy and supports my 225 lb frame with ease. Height is very easy to adjust, and it holds it's position with no problem.

This is one of the most confortable thrones I've owned, and I doubt if I'll ever switch brands or models.



First, this is an infinitely adjustable style throne versus the type where you adjust it using a bolt and spaced holes. This one is adjustable to virtually any fraction of an inch, and more importatly, the seat is big, cushioned and comfortable.



Another nice touch is the memory lock that allows you to quickly find your best setting. If you do multiple gigs this single feature will save a lot of time in the long run (not to mention your back and posterior!)



DW makes great, well designed hardware - always with working drummers in mind - and this throne is yet another example to their committment to quality and excellence.

This polish is really good, I have ZHT Pros. It's not recommened for this type of cymbal, I think mostly because of the rings around the cymbal which make it a little more difficult to clean, but it made my cymbals look like they came right out of the box. The only draw back is it does take of the printed on zildjian part, but it is just paint or something so I guess that's expected and it does say that on the bottle. This is a very decent product and I would recommend it to anyone.

I'm not the smallest guy, and this throne seems rock solid and somewhat comfortable. Accommodates a large range of heights, height stop requires a drum key (square socket). Only complaint is that bolt holding the seat to the post loosens up occasionally, resulting in some squeaking.

I bought this as a replacement / upgrade to my son's drum set. I got him the set when he was 13 years old. He is now 15 and as tall as me! He plays his drums every day and his old throne was wearing out. The other big problem was that it was too short for him.



This throne from Pearl is nice. Heavy weight and it stands a lot taller than his old seat. It stays right where you set it (height wise) and is comfortable to sit on for long sessions.



Could it be better? Yes, a little more padding would be nice and he may want a saddle shaped seat next time but that is a personal preference.



I would buy it again. Great seat for the money.

This product is amazingly informative and frustrating (in a good way) with its precise measuring of your playing. I think the in the next version it would be great if they could somehow work in two handed analyzing(maybe a sensor on the left and right side) as well as rudiments. Another cool feature would be some orchestral excerpts, but even just rudiments would help out. If you're in the market for a metronome to use with a practice pad, (maybe around $70 total) it would be wise to spend a bit more for something like this that tells you if you are using both correctly- which is the point of having those things.

I had heard a lot about the Beatnik from reviews in magazines, online reviews, word of mouth etc. Finally I had a chance to try one out. I was amazed at how user friendly it was, very simple to operate. There are so many possibilites with the unit, a simple written review does not do the product much justice. Now for the interesting part which is the accuracy measuring. This thing lets you know EXACTLY whats going on tempo wise, accuracy wise, and how well you control your dynamics. On the expert level it rounds up or down to the nearest 512th note, if you think about that its pretty amazing. If you happen to play on top or way ahead of the beat you will soon learn out just how ahead you are. If you play behind you will be given the same information. The bottom line with this product is it measures pretty much everything and you can learn a lot about yourself in a short amount of time. The only down fall is the head phones that come with it, use the onboard speaker or some better fitting headphones.
