This is a good strong head. Sounds great after a good tuning. Might need some moon-gels tho unless you like a ringy sound at the end.

The Ambassador, is, in my opinion, the best snare drum head that I have found. I have tried the pinstripe, emperor, ebony, etc. at various times, just trying to find that "perfect" snap and tone for my snare, and until I purchased this, had just about given up. This is the only head that goes on my snare. Very warm, with nice overtones, and a great punch make this the perfect head for many different styles of music. I wear many of them out, but I have yet to break one outright, and I hit fairly hard during most of my playing. If you are like me, and are having trouble finding the sound you need out of your snare, give this bad boy a try.

The Remo Ambassador is a very nice head all-around, even for the snare. I have a 14 inch on my snare. The sound is warm and poppy. Has a decent crack to it but definitely not the head you would use for heavy music. I actually like the ring this head produces but if ring isn't your thing then you can easily dampen with tape or a moongel. A little tiny bit thin but for a single ply it sounds nice. My favorite feature is the incredible rebound. I used to use a Coated Controlled Sound Reverse Dot on my snare and moving to this is heaven as far as action is concerned.
